Le Pinete is a climate-controlled building using systems designed to make the most of all the available means: Geothermal, solar thermal, and solar photovoltaic. Ten geothermal drills installed at a depth of approximately 100 m pick up the natural heat stored in the subsoil and bring it to the surface. Then, a heat pump converts the natural heat bringing it to a higher temperature level, and finally sending it directly to the inlet hydraulic circuit. It is an extraordinary, non-polluting solution that does not require fireplaces and does not emit CO₂ into the atmosphere. Completing the geothermal system, 20 sqm of solar thermal panels were installed that contribute to the production of hot water. The entire system is supplied by a photovoltaic system, able to provide the necessary energy to supply the geothermal system as well as satisfy all the other energy needs of the building.
